House Dressing: Gilt Your Way to Carnelian and Turquoise

Carnelian and Turquoise Earings

From Bounkit Jewerly via Gilt

It’s past 1am, and I totally should be asleep by now. But I just couldn’t wait to show you this pair of earrings I am enamored with…made of carnelian and turquoise. (Tons more on Gilt of Bounkit Jewelry, by the way. Go go — sale ends 8/27 midnight ET!)

I love the reddish-brown tone of the carnelian (isn’t that a great name?) contrasted against the bright teal-blue hue of the turquoise. Just so vibrant together. Here are some great inspirations to dress up your home using these color combos.

So, it looks like this color combo is popular for kitchens? I like it!

Ah, way to brighten up, while at the same time, tone down a dining space.

There ya have it. Off to bed for me! Good night (or good morning).

House Dressing: An Old Town Treat

On my Groupon alert today, I received a lovely discount to a new DC jewel named Treat.  Treat opened last May 2009 in Old Town, Alexandria and touts itself as “the sample sale boutique,” carrying designer brands at affordable prices.  Yes, help us chic, stylish professional DC women get out of our everyday black, brown, blue, and grey suits and into something more colorful, if not fashion forward!  I’m gushing over this DC color staple:

I love the shape and its visual texture.  And who wouldn’t want to wear a dress like this, with the accessories I found, in rooms like these?
